ABOUT HERDIE HIDEAWAY

A shepherds hut nested on the edge of the Lake District overlooking the Solway Firth, offering guests all the experience of outdoorsy glamping while providing a warm and cosy home to retreat to if the good old British weather takes a turn for the worse!

YOUR HOSTS AT HERDIE HIDEAWAY

Herdie hideaway is run by Charlotte and Alex and is based on Alex’s family farm set right on the border of the Lake District with an exceptional view over the Solway Firth and into Scotland.

We’re a young couple with a passion for the outdoors and a love for sharing the beauty of the countryside. Our shepherds hut sits on our working farm, Alex alongside his family manages the livestock and other aspects on the farm. Charlotte works full time as an agricultural apprenticeship tutor as well as helping out on the farm.

OUR UNIQUE LOCATION

Here at Clea hall we run Herdwick, Cheviot and Texel sheep and we also take cattle in on a bed and breakfast during the winter.

Clea hall is roughly 300 acres which is ran on a low input grass based system. There will be the usual hustle and bustle of a working farm but we assure you this will not interrupt your stay. If any assistance is required we will be able to provide any help hopefully within 15 minutes of your phone call and will be willing to help with any issues you run into.

We hope you enjoy your stay in this beautiful part of the world, switch off, unwind and have a relaxing time in this lovely secluded area.
